The Trent valley Equestrian Summer Camp is a fantastic experience – a week of fun and learning centred on ponies and horses for both children and adults. You will be completely responsible for the care of your horse/pony as well as taking part in a whole range of fun activities. The week culminates in Show Day on Friday where there will be competitions such as Show Jumping, Working Hunter, Tack and Turnout, Handy Pony and Chase me Charlie – all appropriate to your level. We welcome spectators on show day! (subject to COVID regulations)
Participants may bring their own horse/pony. There are also riding school horses/ponies available.
With the exception of Monday morning which is a 7:30am start, each day starts at 8am on the yard – everyone must sign in on arrival each day.
Participants are divided into small groups (maximum 8) according to age and ability. Each group has two riding sessions per day. Other activities may include:
Stable management
Grooming
Horse/pony care
Preparation for badges/certificates
Each day ends at 5pm after evening activities except Wednesday evening which will be a games and entertainment evening. On the Wednesday everyone is welcome to join us we have a pizza seller on site and will do games (adult v children!) for fun.
Everybody must sign out before leaving the premises .
Cost - £300 this includes:
· Instruction in small groups
· Fully supervised activities
· Stabling/accommodation, straw bedding, hay and water. Please bring any extra hard feed that is needed for your horse/pony. Please be aware that a few of the stables do not have automatic drinkers so please bring a large water bucket.
Places are limited and allocated on a first come first served basis. Payment by cash or debit card only please
A non-refundable £100 deposit together with completed registration forms must be received by 1 st April
The Balance of £200, together with all other completed forms must be received by 1st May . Full payment and/ or forms not received by 1st May will result in loss of the place and deposit. Forms to complete (all forms are included at the back of this information document)
Trent valley Equestrian LLP accept no responsibility for any loss or damage to any personal equipment.
Please note that there is a zero tolerance no smoking policy across the whole premises.
What you need to bring
Every participant needs to be properly equipped for the week. Some items are optional however most are essential. EVERYTHING must be indelibly labelled with the participant’s name. Please note that due to the large number of participants, we cannot provide individual storage facilities we recommend you bring a large waterproof storage box with all your equipment clearly labelled in it. You must be personally responsible for all of your belongings. Trent valley Equestrian LLP accepts no responsibility for loss of damage to any of your belongings.
Kit List
Everyday Riding Attire
· Trent valley sweatshirt/ T-Shirt ( camp sweatshirts can be ordered directly from JS Teamwear)
· Jodhpurs – navy/ black/ cream
· Suitable footwear – riding boots/ muckers/ wellingtons
· Body Protector – must be worn for all jumping and cross country
· Riding Hat to current safety standards (please consult a member of staff well in advance if you are not sure whether your hat conforms)
· Long sleeves must be worn for jumping
Waterproof clothing for wet days and sun cream.
Friday Show Day
· White shirt or show shirt
· Tie
· Cream Jodhpurs
· Jacket (V-necked pullover if you do not have one)
For your horse/ pony (this applies to all participants including those using a school horse/pony)
· Full Grooming Kit – you can buy these very cheap online
· Saddle soap
· Hoof oil
· Head collar and lead rope (Essential)
· Hay net x 2
· Sponge
· Wheelbarrow and tools (if on your own pony you must bring these)
If you have your own horse/pony you are responsible for providing all tack etc associated with your horse/pony.
Meals
You will also need to bring a pack up with your breakfast and lunch for each day and a chair. We will provide tea, coffee, juice and biscuits/snacks that are available at all times from the office at any point of the day! We will be running camp in a COVID safe manner so we can protect everyone on site!
Friday- prize giving
after the thrills and spills (hopefully not to many of those) of show day there are rosettes and prizes to be given out for the days competitions and things you achieved throughout the week.

- who will win the toilet seat for falling off most often?!
- who will win the trophy for best overall?

Participants may bring their own horse/pony. There are also riding school horses/ponies available.
Each day starts at 8am on the yard – everyone must sign in on arrival each day.
